Lyon released a research report saying that institutional investors recently held a sustainable development study event, which covered corporate ESG strategy meetings, sustainable investment round tables, and green finance exchanges with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Investors generally believe that sustainable development is becoming an issue of enterprise competitiveness, resource security, and business resilience. In terms of AI infrastructure, clean energy deployment, climate adaptation, or sustainable capital market innovation, the market is paying more attention to how sustainable factors can be transformed into long-term economic value rather than simply focusing on sustainable promises. The bank said that as far as AI development is concerned, the current market focus has gone beyond whether AI is “green” or “sustainable,” but is shifting to which companies can obtain sufficient clean electricity, water sources and infrastructure to “responsibly” develop AI. The bank believes that long-term winners may be able to expand computing capacity under resource usage growth restrictions. It also indicates that power supply to AI data centers is often the focus, and approval of water sources and environmental protection is also critical.
