The Zhitong Finance App learned that AIA (01299) fell nearly 4% in the intraday period. As of press release, it decreased by 3.30% to HK$73.3, with a turnover of HK$1,263 billion.
According to the news, HSBC released a research report saying that AIA's new business value (VONB) prospects for the second half of 2026 are still being challenged, especially its core Hong Kong business. AIA's stock price has outperformed the Hang Seng Financial Index by 17.8 percentage points so far this year, partly reflecting the slowdown in Hong Kong's VONB growth and stricter regulations on outbound investment in the mainland. The key uncertain factor is the extent to which new business for mainland visitors will be affected. Jefferies, on the other hand, believes that AIA's business in Thailand is undervalued by investors.
