S&P Global: Germany's Private Sector Growth Accelerates in September

03:53 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's private sector grew in September at a faster rate as business activity across the service sector rebounded while growth in manufacturing production softened, data from S&P Global showed Wednesday. The S&P Global Flash Germany Composite PMI Output Index reached an 11-month high of 53.8, compared with the August reading and consensus of 51.8. For the manufacturing sector, the PMI was at a two-month low of 53.8, against the prior 54.3 and the market forecast of 54.1. On the services side, the PMI hit a seven-month high of 52.9, entering expansion territory after a 49.7 reading previously and beating the consensus estimate of 49.9.
