EFG International Settles Legacy Litigation with Kuwait's Public Institution for Social Security

01:31 AM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- EFG International (EFGN.SW) said Wednesday it settled its longstanding legacy litigation with Kuwait's Public Institution for Social Security, removing all legacy litigation risk for the Swiss-listed private banking group related to the matter. The Kuwaiti public pension fund and social insurance agency previously commenced civil proceedings in the UK against more than 30 defendants for certain events between 1995 and 2012. The final settlement will have an additional impact of 5 million francs on EFG's net profit in the second half, as the company said Feb. 18 it had already recorded a provision for the matter.
