Macron wants the EU to temporarily relax technical standards for refiners in order to increase aviation fuel and diesel production by up to 20%. At the same time, he hoped that the EU would allow distributors to replace B10 diesel containing 10% biofuel with B7 diesel containing 7% biofuel. The latter is currently a commonly used hybrid fuel in Europe. According to Macron, this measure will support diesel supply and “provide additional profit margin” for fuel supply.
