At the invitation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Ding Jung-ri, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, led a delegation to South Korea from September 21 to 22, to meet with South Korean Speaker Cho Jeong-si, and to attend the 14th session of the China-Korea Parliamentary Exchange Mechanism with Vice Speaker Nam In-sun. Ding Zhongli said that the current international situation is complex. China and South Korea should stick to the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations, be firm in good neighborliness and friendship, adhere to mutual benefit and win-win situation, implement the consensus of the heads of state of the two countries, and push for more results in cooperation in various fields to better benefit the peoples of the two countries. The South Korean side said that South Korea and China are geographically close and have a long history of friendly exchanges. South Korea is willing to work with China to push the strategic partnership between the two countries to a more mature stage. At the exchange mechanism meeting, the two sides exchanged views on topics such as bilateral relations, regional situation, economic and technological cooperation, and the rights and interests of women and children. The South Korean side also reiterated its respect for the one-China position.
