Some Jolimark Holdings Limited (HKG:2028) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Founder & Executive Chairman, Pak Yin Au, recently sold a substantial HK$71m worth of stock at a price of HK$0.55 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 29% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Jolimark Holdings

Notably, that recent sale by Pak Yin Au is the biggest insider sale of Jolimark Holdings shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of HK$4.21, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. It is worth noting that this sale was only 29% of Pak Yin Au's holding.

Does Jolimark Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Jolimark Holdings insiders own 40% of the company, currently worth about HK$1.5b based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
