Scottsdale, Arizona-based Axon Enterprise, Inc. (AXON) is a public-safety technology company that combines hardware, cloud software, and AI into an integrated platform for law enforcement, first responders, government agencies, and private-sector security teams.

Companies valued at $10 billion or more are generally classified as “large-cap” stocks, and Axon Enterprise, with a market cap of $60.5 billion,  fits this description perfectly. The company is known for its TASER energy weapons and also provides body-worn cameras, digital evidence management systems, and AI-powered software through its cloud-based Axon Cloud platform.

Axon Enterprise has endured a sharp pullback, falling 40.9% from its 52-week high of $792.15, reached on Sept. 23, 2025. However, the stock has shown signs of a rebound more recently, surging 7.6% over the past three months and outperforming the broader Nasdaq Composite ($NASX), which declined 1.5% during the same period.

However, the longer-term picture remains more challenging. AXON is down 17.5% year to date, compared with an 11.8% gain for the Nasdaq, while its 37.6% 52-week decline contrasts with the index’s 16.3% advance.

Technically, the stock has remained below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages since early September, reflecting continued downward pressure despite the recent rebound.

On Sept. 15, Axon shares plunged 9.8% after the company announced a $1 billion offering of 0% convertible senior notes due in 2031. While the notes carry no cash interest, the potential to convert into equity has raised dilution concerns among investors. The fundraising also comes as Axon’s cash balance has fallen sharply, from about $1.7 billion in late 2025 to below $700 million by mid-2026, prompting the company to raise capital to fund growth initiatives and preserve financial flexibility.

When we compare AXON with its top rival L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (LHX), we see that AXON has lagged behind. LHX stock has decreased 11.8% over the past 52 weeks and 14.6% on a YTD basis.

Despite AXON’s recent volatility, analysts remain bullish on its longer-term prospects. Among the 15 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is “Strong Buy,” and the mean price target of $715.26 implies an upside potential of 52.7% from the current market prices.
