China Automobile Association: Automobile exports of 1.01 million vehicles increased 65.3% year-on-year in August

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to an analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, exports continued to grow rapidly in August, with monthly exports exceeding 1 million vehicles for 3 consecutive months, a key increase in stabilizing the overall market of the industry. In August 2026, 1.01 million vehicles were exported, down 3.2% from the previous month, and up 65.3% from the previous year. In January-August, 7.153 million vehicles were exported, an increase of 66.7% over the previous year.

In August 2026, 890,000 passenger cars were exported, down 3.5% from the previous month, and up 67.1% from the previous year. In January-August, passenger car exports were 6.248,000 units, an increase of 71.8% year-on-year.

In August 2026, 120,000 commercial vehicles were exported, down 0.8% from the previous month, and up 53.3% from the previous year. From January to August, 905,000 commercial vehicles were exported, up 38.1% year on year.

In August 2026, 485,000 conventional fuel vehicles were exported, down 1.1% month on month and up 25.2% year on year. In January-August, 3.718 million conventional fuel vehicles were exported, an increase of 34.7% over the previous year.

In August 2026, 526,000 new energy vehicles were exported, a year-on-month decrease of 5% and a year-on-year increase of 1.3 times. In January-August, exports of new energy vehicles amounted to 3.435 million units, an increase of 1.2 times over the previous year.
