The Zhitong Finance App learned that Coca Cola (KO.US) said on Tuesday that it plans to invest 10 billion US dollars in infrastructure in the US between 2026 and 2030. According to information, the US is one of its largest markets, and this move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for products.
According to the company, the investment will be used for US facilities and logistics infrastructure, including building and expanding manufacturing and bottling plants, increasing distribution centers and storage capacity, office and campus facilities, and related production and distribution infrastructure.
The total investment of $10 billion includes both new projects and previously announced projects, the latter involving California, Colorado, Alabama, New York, etc. Specific sites to be upgraded include a bottling distribution facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California; a bottling plant in Colorado Springs, Colorado; a manufacturing plant in Indianapolis; Coca-Cola United campus in Birmingham, Alabama; the Fairlife plant in Coopersville, Michigan; and a distribution center in Orlando.
Coca Cola's chief financial officer John Murphy said that the above $10 billion is a system-wide caliber figure, not only Coca Cola's own capital expenditure, but also its bottling partners.
In July, the company anticipated capital expenditure for the current fiscal year of approximately $2.2 billion.
The company also said that according to research commissioned independently, its US system contributes 85 billion US dollars to US GDP and supports nearly 1 million jobs in just one year. The Coca-Cola system includes the company and its bottling partners.
According to Coca Cola, the system spent about 37 billion US dollars with US suppliers and jointly donated 177 million US dollars to community projects with the Coca Cola Foundation and the Coca Cola Scholars Foundation. The study is the second such study conducted by Coca Cola, and the first was released in September 2023.
In terms of stock prices, Coca Cola has risen more than 28% year to date, ranking 7th among Dow Jones's 30 constituent stocks. In terms of market capitalization, Coca Cola is the 33rd largest company listed in the US by market capitalization, slightly higher than Caterpillar (CAT.US), Dell Technologies (DELL.US), and MSD (MRK.US).
