XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) on Monday broke above $1.38 after a buildup of short liquidations, with liquidity pockets higher serving as potential next targets.
On Sept. 13, crypto chart analyst Ali Martinez highlighted XRP’s breakout setup, identifying $1.31-$1.35 as key support and $1.38 as the breakout level.
XRP has since cleared that resistance, gaining 4% over the past 24 hours. Coinglass data shows short liquidations over the past 24 hours increasing to $2.79 million/
Martinez now predicts a “sustained close above $1.38 would confirm the move and could open the door to a rally toward $1.60”
Open interest has dropped from $2.85 billion to $2.83 billion in a single day raising doubts if the rally lacks new buying strength and could lose momentum.
Cryptoinsightuk on Sunday identified $1.29 as an important daily support level, with another liquidity pocket around $1.26.
The analyst highlighted hourly liquidity around $1.49 and $1.55, making those levels potential targets if XRP holds support and shorts get squeezed.
On the daily chart, an even larger liquidity cluster sits between $1.70 and $1.85.
Downside risk remains.
The trader sees liquidity near $0.96 if XRP loses its current structure but expects the larger liquidity pools overhead to eventually attract price.
