Insiders seem to have made the most of their holdings by selling CN¥694k worth of Shanghai Realway Capital Assets Management Co., Ltd. (HKG:1835) stock at an average sell price of CN¥1.20 during the past year. The company's market valuation decreased by HK$232m after the stock price dropped 34% over the past week, but insiders were spared from painful losses.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Shanghai Realway Capital Assets Management

The insider, Lei Fan, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$694k worth of shares at a price of HK$1.20 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of HK$2.99. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. It is worth noting that this sale was 100% of Lei Fan's holding. Lei Fan was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
