06:38 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus' (AIR.F, AIR.PA) chairman and chief executive officer in North America, Robin Hayes, said acquiring assets from subcontractors "can be the solution from time to time" to issues across the planemaker's supply chain, Bloomberg News reported Thursday. In a Wednesday phone interview, Hayes told the news agency that the company continues to be "very focused" on quickly resolving supply chain bottlenecks, which recently have been centered on key parts like engines and cabin interiors. Airbus previously acquired certain industrial assets, including facilities that manufacture airplane components, as part of Boeing's (BCO.F) purchase of supplier Spirit AeroSystems in 2025.
