Cambi Lands Contract to Supply Thermal Hydrolysis Process Systems in Egypt

07:22 AM EDT, 09/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Norwegian thermal hydrolysis company Cambi (CAMBI.OL) will deliver four thermal hydrolysis process systems and ancillaries for a wastewater treatment plant in Alexandria, Egypt, according to a Wednesday filing. The technology, as part of a contract with a joint venture of Metito Water Treatment and Hassan Allam Construction, will treat the Alexandria West facility's biological solids before anaerobic digestion. The project will also renovate the plant and boost capacity, among other things. The Egyptian Construction Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater is coordinating the construction, with the European Union, the European Investment Bank, and Egyptian national resources funding it. Cambi expects to deliver the equipment in 2028, with operations set to begin in 2029.
