ArcelorMittal Faces Pricing Uncertainty for Green Steel from New French Plant

06:14 AM EDT, 09/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ArcelorMittal (MT.AS, MTS.MC) is facing uncertainty over whether it can charge more for steel produced at its new low-carbon plant in Dunkirk, France, London's Financial Times reported Monday. ArcelorMittal France's Chief Executive Officer Bruno Ribo said that the steelmaker had "no real visibility" into how fast demand for green steel will rise or whether customers will be willing to pay more. He added that the level of uncertainty about the prices the company could charge European carmakers is "very, very high."
