Cotton Pushing Losses to Thursday

Cotton futures are down 215 to 256 points across most contracts at midday.  Crude oil is up 99 cents per barrel higher on the day, with the US dollar index down $0.692.

Export Sales showed a total of just 27,525 RB in 2026/27 sales in the week of 8/27. That was a 88.76% drop from the same week last year. New crop sales came in at 0. Shipments totaled 189,480 RB in that week, which was 22.52% above the same week last year. 

Census data showed 1.16 million bales of cotton exports, excluding linters, in July. That was a 4 year high, up 23.7% from last year, but a drop of 3.78% from last month. 

The Seam reported sales of 2,251 bales on September 2 at an average price of 87.00 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index was down 155 points on Tuesday at 100.75. ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on September 2, with the certified stocks level at 63,092 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by another 190 points last week to 71.52 cents/lb. 

Oct 26 Cotton  is at 84.23, down 215 points,

Dec 26 Cotton  is at 86.41, down 252 points,

Mar 27 Cotton  is at 88.74, down 256 points
