TYK Medicines, Inc's (HKG:2410) value has fallen 12% in the last week, but insiders who sold CN¥4.0m worth of stock over the last year have had less success. Given that the average selling price of CN¥17.59 is still lower than the current share price, insiders would probably have been better off keeping their shares.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

TYK Medicines Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Non-Executive Director, Hong Gu, sold HK$2.7m worth of shares at a price of HK$19.05 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (HK$5.56). So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price. Hong Gu was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.

Hong Gu ditched 230.00k shares over the year. The average price per share was CN¥17.59.
