Flughafen Zürich stock heads into this earnings day on the back foot, with the share price down roughly 12% over three months, just as the company posts its strongest half year on record. Revenue reached CHF 673.6m and net income came in at CHF 163.7m, both helped by a powerful rebound in passenger and commercial activity at Zurich Airport.
The sentiment gap is clear. The stock trades as if growth is running out of runway, while the latest numbers show a business still generating a net profit margin around 25%. The rest of this report explains that disconnect.

Bulls argue that Flughafen Zürich is building a higher margin, more diversified airport platform, where Zurich traffic growth, non aviation income and international assets steadily lift earnings capacity. H1 2026 goes some way toward that. Zurich passengers rose 6% to 15.8m with seat load factor up 2 percentage points and commercial turnover above CHF 300m. Non aviation revenue of CHF 328m grew in line with group revenue. International revenue reached CHF 67m and grew at a faster clip than the group, helped by Brazil and the first contribution from Noida. Leverage at about 2.1x and operating cash flow of CHF 324m support the view that heavy capex is still manageable. However, flat EBITDA guidance for 2026 and an expected decline in consolidated profit show that earnings are not yet benefiting proportionately from this growth push.
The main worry for bears is that heavy capex, regulatory headwinds and overseas execution risk dilute Flughafen Zürich’s earnings power, at a time when the stock has fallen about 12% over 90 days. H1 2026 results do not remove those concerns. Group capex reached CHF 269m in six months and is guided to about CHF 500m for 2026, while management already expects lower full year profit and a lower dividend under its framework. Noida opened later than hoped and is ramping slower than planned, with negative EBITDA in 2026 and only breakeven targeted for 2027. A roughly 10% cut in Zurich airport charges from October 2026 is expected to be offset by volume, which limits upside from regulated aeronautical revenue. Landside construction is already weighing on turnover and is likely to keep Zurich commercial revenue only sideways this year.
