Reignite Thailand" reassuring confidence in Thai economy and capital market

BANGKOK, August 26, 2026 - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), in
collaboration with partners consisting of CLSA Securities (Thailand) Limited,
DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Kiatnakin Phatra pcl in
partnership with BofA Securities, Inc., and UBS Securities (Thailand) Ltd. has
recently organized "Thailand Focus 2026: Reignite Thailand" from August 26-28,
2026. Featuring a keynote speech by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, who together with Minister of Energy Akanat
Promphan for a special talk. Top executives from the business sector and capital
market & money market presented and provided information, as well as exchanging
views with institutional investors worldwide.
SET President Asadej Kongsiri said that this Thailand Focus 2026: Reignite
Thailand event served as a vital stage to showcase Thailand's investment
potential to be on the radar of global institutional investors. This year, the
event received positive responses from 220 institutional investors from 74
financial institutions worldwide, consisting of investors from countries with
existing investments in Thailand, as well as first-time participating countries,
such as Switzerland, New Zealand, and Israel, among others, gaining insights
about Thailand's development and growth potential. This signals that the Thai
capital market remains a key investment destination for global investors.
This event marked the 20th Anniversary of Thailand Focus, correspondingly taking
part in the Affiliated Program of the upcoming IMF - World Bank Group Annual
Meetings 2026 (October 12-18, 2026). This lead-in forum provided an opportunity
for institutional investors to obtain information and exchange viewpoints with
executives from 77 SET-listed and mai-listed companies, with a total market
capitalization of THB 16 trillion, representing 80 percent of the entire market
(data as of August 25, 2026). Investors were particularly interested in
companies in sectors that represent the country's strengths, including 15
companies in the JUMP+ project that presented their upleveling operational
directions, through 1,552 one-on-one and group meetings. Notably, the shift has
been made from information gathering to real investment interest with
opportunities. Significantly, building long-term relationships with investors
worldwide will further enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the
Thai capital market.
In addition, Thailand Focus 2026 also welcomed the presence of seven listed
companies from stock exchanges in the region, namely Singapore, Malaysia,
Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, reinforcing the collaborative role in
creating investment in the ASEAN region.
"Global institutional investors were interested in keeping updated with
Thailand's policies to drive the economic growth and investment, especially the
infrastructure investment, and competitive capabilities enhancement.
The Thai business sector continues to have strong fundamentals and adaptability,
leading to an upward trend in the Thai stock market's investment climate. SET
Index has increased by nearly 30 percent since the beginning of the year,
ranking fourth globally, showing investor confidence amid supporting factors
such as continued foreign investment inflows recording net purchases of THB 67
billion year-to-date, upgraded credit rating for Thailand by leading global
rating agencies, as well as government policies favorable to the investment
ecosystem, among other factors. All these have boosted the confidence and
attractiveness of investing in the Thai capital market," added Asadej.
This 20th forum entitled Thailand Focus 2026 was honored by Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, who presided over the
opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address, boosting confidence and
signaling Thailand's readiness to welcome global investment. Moreover, he has
also highlighted the core parts of Thailand's economic restructuring strategy to
attract new investments. In addition, Minister of Energy Akanat Promphan has
also presented a special talk sharing perspective on transforming energy
challenges into opportunities and competitive advantages. Furthermore, the event
also featured sessions in which high-level executives exchanged views on
promising economic growth directions, ranging from upleveling Thailand to a hub
for future industries (New S-Curve), strengthening fiscal stability and
resilience, as well as adapting business strategies amid geopolitical challenges
and the new world order. The aim is to portray Thailand's potential to overcome
challenges and capture new opportunities for sustainable growth in the upcoming
phases.
