DSM-Firmenich Launches Patent Infringement Case in China Over Sclareol Production

03:02 AM EDT, 08/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- DSM-Firmenich (DSFIR.AS, DSFIR.SW) said Friday it launched patent infringement proceedings in China against several Chinese entities over the alleged unauthorized use of its technology for producing sclareol. The nutrition, health, and beauty company filed the case with the Xiong'An New District Court in China's Hebei Province against defendants including a sclareol producer and a research institute. It is seeking to halt the alleged infringement and receive compensation. Sclareol is used as an intermediate in the production of amber fragrance ingredients, including Ambrox Super.
