04:13 AM EDT, 08/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BHP Group (BHP.L, BHG.JO) said it will meet representatives of workers at its Port Hedland iron ore exporting port in Australia before the country's workplace tribunal in hopes of advancing ongoing wage negotiations. In an emailed statement to MT Newswires on Tuesday, the mining giant said the Fair Work Commission meeting with unions was scheduled for next week, noting that it believes the tribunal's presence at the negotiation table "is the best way to reach a fair and reasonable agreement." The company is currently offering a 16% wage hike for most port workers over the life of the agreement plus higher allowances. It affirmed its commitment to bargaining in good faith after failing to reach an agreement during the latest meeting with workers on Tuesday. Reuters, citing the Combined BHP Ports Unions, reported Tuesday that negotiations between the parties are expected to resume on Aug. 25.
