Kelso Group Urges The Works Shareholders to Back Director Appointment

04:33 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kelso Group (KLSO.L) urged shareholders of TheWorks.co.uk (WRKS.L), trading as The Works, to vote in favor of appointing Graeme Coulthard as a director at the retailer's upcoming annual general meeting. The London-listed investor, which holds 10% of The Works' voting rights, said Friday it was "surprised and disappointed" by the statement from the company's board recommending that shareholders vote against the proposal. Kelso said Coulthard owns an 8% stake in The Works. Kelso also disputed The Works' assertion that Coulthard lacks executive experience in multi-site value retail.
