Mutares Buys Former Mercedes-Porsche JV from Magna

11:30 PM EDT, 08/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Mutares (MUX.F) completed the acquisition of the Car Top Systems business from automotive supplier Magna, according to a Wednesday release. Launched as a joint venture between German automakers Mercedes-Benz Group (MBG.F) and Porsche AG (P911.F), Car Top Systems specializes in roof and aerodynamic kinematic systems for the automotive industry. Based in Germany, the business also has locations in Poland, China, Mexico and Japan. The German private equity company said the purchased business complements its automotive industry holding company Hilo Group.
