The San Francisco-based company said it had profit of $1.17 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 83 cents per share.

The ride-hailing company posted revenue of $14.19 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $14.21 billion.
