HOUSTON (AP) — HOUSTON (AP) — Skyward Specialty Insurance Group Inc. (SKWD) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $49 million.

On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had net income of $1.07. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.30 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.15 per share.

The property and casualty insurance holding company posted revenue of $489.5 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $459.6 million.
