Teleperformance stock closed at €69.0 after a strong run over the past month, yet the real story sits in the earnings line rather than the ticker. H1 2026 showed recurring EBITA holding steady at about 13.6% while heavy restructuring costs of roughly €109m weighed on reported profit. For short term traders the margin stability may look underwhelming next to the headline charges. For long term holders the bigger question is whether this efficiency push and unchanged full year guidance can eventually justify a single digit P/E and the current discount to the stated fair value.

Bulls argue Teleperformance is turning into an AI led, higher value CX provider that can hold margins and cash flow while it reshapes the business mix. H1 offers partial support. Recurring EBITA margin held at 13.6% and management kept full year revenue and margin guidance unchanged despite a like for like revenue decline of 1.7%. Core Services excluding Trust & Safety grew on a like for like basis and Specialized Services margin improved by about 300bp helped by synergies. Net free cash flow before restructuring reached about €299m and the company refinanced €1.2b of debt at about 4.28% with long tenor. Awards for TP.ai and healthcare CXM also point to traction with higher value work. The catch is that these positives still rely heavily on adjustments, while headline revenue and reported profit are under pressure from restructuring.
Bears worry that Teleperformance faces structural volume pressure from AI, contract volatility and heavy restructuring that erodes earnings quality. H1 results give some backing to those concerns but do not close the debate. Like for like revenue declined 1.7% and Trust & Safety continues to weigh on growth as automation and translation tools reduce simpler work. Headline EBIT and profit were hit by about €109m of restructuring costs, with total 2026 restructuring expected at €120m to €140m, so a large share of current earnings is being spent to fix the cost base. Currency effects also hurt the Americas margin and management flagged labor cost pressure in Colombia. At the same time, Specialized Services units like TLS returned to growth with a major contract win and overall recurring margin stayed flat, which challenges the view that profitability is in unchecked structural decline.
