Potential Enad Global 7 AB (publ) (STO:EG7) shareholders may wish to note that the Independent Deputy Chairman of the Board, Jason Epstein, recently bought kr4.8m worth of stock, paying kr18.09 for each share. While that's a very decent purchase to our minds, it was proportionally a bit modest, boosting their holding by just 2.5%.
In fact, the recent purchase by Independent Deputy Chairman of the Board Jason Epstein was not their only acquisition of Enad Global 7 shares this year. They previously made an even bigger purchase of kr11m worth of shares at a price of kr15.98 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of kr20.75. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Enad Global 7 insiders own about kr736m worth of shares (which is 40% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. But on the other hand, the company made a loss during the last year, which makes us a little cautious.
