GfK: UK Consumer Confidence Hits Highest Since January

The latest figure, which surpassed the consensus estimate of -22 points, was the highest since January. The improved reading was attributed to optimism regarding the appointment of Andy Burnham as prime minister and easing tensions in the Middle East, as the survey was conducted before recent escalations in the region.
