Centrica Says Life Extended for Two Nuclear Power Stations in UK

12:07 PM EDT, 07/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Centrica (CNA.L) said Wednesday the life of its 20%-owned Heysham 1 and Hartlepool nuclear power stations in the UK was further extended by two years to March 2030. The British energy and services company said the extensions will add up to 6 terawatt-hours to its electricity generation volumes. Centrica added that there is no expected change to the March 2030 closure date of Heysham 2 and Torness.
