Saab, Embraer Agree to Boost Gripen Aircraft Production in Brazil

12:29 PM EDT, 07/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Saab (SAAB-B.ST) signed an agreement with Brazilian aerospace company Embraer that establishes a framework to manufacture 20 more Gripen aircraft at the latter's Gavião Peixoto facility in Brazil to meet global demand. Under the heads of agreement, Embraer will be in charge of aircraft assembly, complementing the Swedish defense and security group's final assembly line in Sweden, according to a Tuesday release. The two companies aim to finalize the agreement in 2026.
