Airbus to Anchor New EUR500 Million European Defense Technology Fund

04:42 AM EDT, 07/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aviation giant Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) agreed to become the anchor investor for a new European defense technology fund. The E2D fund was launched in June by AVP and Earlybird with a target size of 500 million euros, according to a Tuesday release. It aims to boost Europe's defense ecosystem through growth capital to technology companies. The growth-stage fund targets 20 companies with an average investment size of 25 million euros.
