Vega's Counterparty Banks to Purchase e&'s Vodafone Stake Soon

07:27 AM EDT, 07/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- French investment holding Vega said Thursday its counterparty banks will soon complete the purchase of the 3.94 billion shares held by Emirates Telecommunications Group Co. (ADX:EAND), d/b/a e&, in Vodafone Group (VOD.L) at 1.105 pounds sterling per share for hedging purposes. Vega expects the financial instruments entered into with its counterparty banks to settle by the end of 2026, once regulatory approvals are obtained, entitling it to receive shares representing 18.8% of the British telecoms company's share capital and 19.87% of its voting rights. e& agreed on July 10 to sell its 16.21% stake in Vodafone for 1.105 pounds in cash and a dividend of 0.0202 pound per share.
