Italian Competition Watchdog OKs Poste Italiane's Offer to Purchase Telecom Italia

04:15 AM EDT, 07/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Poste Italiane's (PST.MI) tender and exchange offer to buy telecommunications group Telecom Italia (TIT.MI) secured the approval of Italian securities market regulator Consob. The Italian postal services company said Thursday that the approval will allow it to start the acceptance period of the offer, which will take place from July 20 to Sept. 11. Poste Italiane added that the period can be extended, subject to conditions. The company noted that five days after the acceptance period, it will pay its revised consideration of 1.67 euros and 0.218 shares to each shareholder who validly tendered to the offer.
