11:21 PM EST, 01/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nestlé (NESN.SW) expanded the recall of some batches of infant formula to Africa, the Americas, and Asia due to potential contamination with cereulide toxin, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a statement. The recall, which concerns the packaged food and drinks giant's batches of SMA, BEBA, NAN, and Alfamino formula, was in response to health warnings from at least 37 countries. Nestlé said that it tested all arachidonic acid oils and oil mixes used in the formulas following a quality issue in one of the ingredients. Nestlé did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
