06:33 AM EST, 01/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP.L) launched a 50:50 joint venture with US-based agriculture company Corteva to produce and supply biofuel feedstocks to global markets, according to a Wednesday release. The joint venture, named Etlas, will extract oil from crops, including canola, mustard and sunflower, to produce sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, among other biofuels. It aims to start deliveries in 2027 and produce 1 million metric tonnes of feedstock annually by the mid-2030s. The British oil major will provide its expertise in refining and marketing fuel for the commercial transportation market, while Corteva will offer its seed technology to develop the crops.
