Eurozone's Flash Annual Inflation Rate Eases to 2% in December 2025

05:08 AM EST, 01/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Annual inflation in the euro area ticked down to 2% in December 2025 from 2.1% in the previous month, according to Eurostat flash estimates released Wednesday, matching the consensus estimate. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.2% higher. Excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, the annual inflation rate came in at 2.3%, lower than the previous and expected 2.4%. Month over month, core consumer prices rose 0.3%.
