Italian Construction Sector Sinks Deeper into Contraction in December 2025, PMI Shows

03:54 AM EST, 01/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Italy's construction activity weakened further in December 2025 as subdued demand for building work led to the fastest declines in activity and new orders in four months, S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank said Wednesday. The HCOB Italy Construction PMI came in at 47.9 in December 2025, down from 48.2 in the previous month.
