Premier African Minerals Extends Offtake Deal Deadline for Zulu Lithium-Tantalum Project

05:28 AM EST, 01/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Premier African Minerals (PREM.L) and Canmax Technologies extended the long stop date to their offtake and prepayment agreement for the Zulu lithium and tantalum project in Zimbabwe, subject to certain conditions. The previous Dec. 31, 2025, deadline was amended to whichever is earlier between June 30, 2026, and the date on which a buyer executes a binding agreement to settle and/or manage Canmax's prepayment amount plus interest, the mining and natural resource developer said in a Monday filing. In August 2023, Canmax pre-purchased $34.6 million worth of Premier products under their prepayment deal to fund the construction and commissioning of the Zulu plant.
