Vestas Secures Maiden Offshore Wind Turbine Project in South Korea

05:52 AM EST, 12/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems (VWS.CO) marked its first offshore project in South Korea after receiving orders amounting to 390 megawatts for the Shinan-Ui offshore wind project in Jeollanam Province. The transaction includes 26 V236-15.0-megawatt offshore wind turbines and a 20-year service agreement, according to a Monday release. Deliveries will start in 2027, with commercial operations slated for 2028. The order was made by the Shinan-Ui Offshore Wind consortium, which comprises Hanwha Ocean, SK Eternix, Korea Midland Power Co., Future Energy Fund, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
