06:21 AM EST, 12/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cable manufacturer Prysmian (PRY.MI) and Eni's (ENI.MI) chemical unit Versalis entered a strategic partnership to recycle plastic cable waste, according to a Monday release. Under the collaboration, the energy company unit will utilize its Hoop technology to recycle Prysmian's plastic scrap and decommissioned cables into pyrolysis oil, before turning it into a new plastic polymer material, which Prysmian will use to produce new cables. The project will pilot in Italy during the second half of 2026 and is expected to repurpose 60% of Prysmian's cross-linked polyethylene waste into a reusable material.
