A Discounted Cash Flow, or DCF, model estimates what a company is worth by projecting the cash it can generate in the future and then discounting those cash flows back into today’s dollars.

For Eli Lilly, the latest twelve month free cash flow is about $6.2 Billion. Analysts and modelled estimates see this growing strongly, with projected free cash flow reaching roughly $60.3 Billion by 2035 based on a two stage Free Cash Flow to Equity model. For profitable companies like Eli Lilly, the price to earnings, or PE, ratio is a useful way to gauge how much investors are willing to pay for each dollar of current earnings.
