BAE Systems Sells 10% Stake in Kazakh Carrier Air Astana

02:30 AM EST, 12/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BAE Systems (BA.L) divested a 10.1% stake in Kazakh carrier Air Astana (AIRA.L), according to a Wednesday filing. The British aerospace and defense group, through BAE Systems (Kazakhstan), placed 9 million Air Astana global depositary receipts at $5.80 apiece, with each representing four shares in the airline. Initially, the seller intended to sell an 8% stake. The BAE Systems unit retained 6,109,982 GDRs or a 6.9% stake in Air Astana following the sale.
