In the last year, multiple insiders have substantially increased their holdings of Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (HKG:1177) stock, indicating that insiders' optimism about the company's prospects has increased.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Sino Biopharmaceutical Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Founder & Senior Executive Vice Chairman Ping Tse bought HK$222m worth of shares at a price of HK$7.44 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than HK$6.80 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
