Goodyear Buc-ee’s to Open Next Year

The announcement was made with significant fanfare. It’s more than just a gas station. When it opens, the Goodyear Buc-ee’s will boast 120 gas pumps outside and 74,000 square feet of food, drink, and shopping inside.

Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s will open at the southeast corner of I-10 and Bullard Avenue. Groundbreaking has taken place, with an expected opening date of June 2026.

Open 24/7, Buc-ee’s offers the usual hot coffees, cold fountain drinks, and snacks — but there’s much more: A jerky bar, freshly baked pastries, homemade fudge, and Texas-style barbecue made fresh on an ongoing basis and carved to order.

Buc-ee’s was founded in Texas in 1982 by Arch Aplin, who combined his childhood nickname (Beaver) with his dog’s name (Buck) to arrive at the Buc-ee’s. There are now more than 50 stores across the country, with people driving sometimes hours to get their hands on Beaver Nuggets and snag a picture with its beaver mascot.
