RK Centers acquired the Riverbend Marketplace shopping center in Fort Lauderdale for $36 million. The S. Florida Business Journal reports Northbridge Investment Management sold the 92,007-square-foot retail center at 2510-2670 W. Broward Blvd. The property last traded for $27.45 million in 2019. It was developed on the 10.2-acre site just west of Interstate 95 in 2017 and is next to a Walmart Supercenter, which was not part of the deal.

Tenants in the acquired property include Marshalls, Planet Fitness, Five Below, Wells Fargo and Chipotle.

RK Centers has been actively buying retail centers in Broward County this year. This is RK Centers’ second property in Fort Lauderdale. It also owns the 1600 Commons plaza that includes Trader Joe’s and Nordstrom Rack.

On its website, RK Centers touts that it acquires, develops, and operates over 11,000,000 square feet of prime “open air” regional and community shopping centers in New England and South Florida.
