Rio Tinto Updates FY25 Bauxite, Copper Production Guidance; Provides FY26 Guidance

01:44 AM EST, 12/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rio Tinto Group (RIO.L) on Thursday upgraded its 2025 guidance for bauxite and copper production and provided production guidance for 2026. The mining giant updated ist 2025 copper production guidance to a range of 860,000 tonnes to 875,000 tonnes from a previous range of 780,000 tonnes to 850,000 tonnes. Bauxite production for 2025 is expected to exceed the previous guidance range of 59 million tonnes to 61 million tonnes. Aluminum production for 2025 is expected at the upper end of the guidance range of 3.25 million tonnes and 3.45 million tonnes, and the alumina production guidance was confirmed between 7.4 million tonnes and 7.8 million tonnes. For 2026, Rio Tinto expects copper production between 800,000 tonnes and 870,000 tonnes and bauxite production between 58 million tonnes and 61 million tonnes. Aluminum production for 2026 is expected to range between 3.25 million tonnes and 3.45 million tonnes, and alumina production is expected to be between 7.6 million tonnes and 8 million tonnes.
