07:05 AM EST, 12/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission accepted binding commitments by TikTok to ensure full transparency of advertisements across its services as required under the European Union's Digital Services Act, according to a Friday notice. TikTok committed to ensuring it provides an "accessible and searchable" repository of ads running on its platform to help monitor scams, ads for illegal or age-inappropriate products, fake promotions, and coordinated information operations, including those related to elections. The commitments must be implemented over a period of 2 months to 12 months, depending on the specific commitment. In May, the commission, in its preliminary view, found that the online video platform does not fulfil the Digital Services Act's obligation to publish an advertisement repository.
