Equinor Commences Production at Co-Owned Verdande Subsea Field

04:47 AM EST, 12/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Oil and gas company Equinor (EQNR.OL) commenced production in its co-owned Verdande subsea field in the Norwegian Sea on Tuesday, according to a Thursday release. The company said more than 6 billion Norwegian kroner has been invested in the field, which has reserves of 36 million barrels of oil. The asset is tied to the Norne Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel. Equinor is the operator of the Verdande project with a 59.3% stake. DNO's (DNO.OL) DNO Norge holds a 10.5% stake, while Aker BP (AKRBP.OL) owns a 3.5% stake. Petoro, Japex Norge and Orlen Upstream Norway own minority stakes.
